5 Things Winners Do That Are Keeping You Awake At Night.

No one has ever lazily fallen into success and more so kept going without embracing this recipe for winning. I call it the winners recipe.

Speaking of recipes, during my first attempt to cook, l set the sauce pan on fire!  I know, l know, l know … in fact everybody knows I am not a great cook!  But l am hoping that in this post, l can set your heart on fire with this winners recipe.

Here’s the recipe that l can take no credit for!  It has been working for longer than we all have lived.

1. PASSION

Winners are consumed with passion for something, they have an unstoppable drive for something. Winners literally put their heart and soul in it to win it.

Here’s why passion is key; Pure passion is not controlled by money, with or without money, winners keep going toward that which they intend to obtain.

2. PROCESS

Winners win in the process.  They know that the only way to move from mediocrity to exceptional is the preparation they put in to win.

You probably have heard the common saying “Rome was not built in a day”, if you want to build your own “Rome”, remember it doesn’t happen overnight.

During preparation, winners separate themselves from things that will hold them back from excelling and commit to things that will propel them to success.

They give up fear to embrace faith.

3.  FOCUS ON STRENGTHS AND RESOURCE WEAKNESSES

Winning is like building a house, if you want to build higher, you must build on strong foundations. That’s why winners build on their strengths.  Those who build on their weaknesses are called losers.

If you want to be a winner, build on your strengths and resource your weaknesses.

Winners know that they cannot do it on their own. They do their part so well that others can do their job. Winners surround themselves with a team of people that empower and resource their weakness.

4. SELF CONFIDENCE

Winners are strong on the inside so they can be strong on the outside.  Winners understand that for them to go far on the outside, they must be strong on the inside.

Have you ever run a marathon or at least a long distance?  When you begin, you run with hype, excitement, physical testosterone and basically show off… except everyone can do that.

But once the hype drops to zero, the sun heats up and the testosterone is down to zero, the only remaining energy is that stored beyond the physical. It’s then you begin to run with the power of your brain, and your self confidence.

The same way, winners get tired but they draw from their belief, their self confidence that they can do it and press on until they win it.

5. PERSISTANCE

“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.

Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan Press On! has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.” ~  Calvin Coolidge

Winners persist even through failure!  If failure was final, then none of us would be walking because we all fell on our faces our first or second attempt, of that I am sure.

Hold firm, hold strong, persist.

NOTE – Persistence is worth it if you persist moving in the right direction. If you are going the wrong way, get your navigator on. (purpose, goal, values)

If you are going through fire, keep going. That’s how you get out to the other side.

I have never seen any quitter in a game who won. Winners win, thats what makes them winners.

Now take this recipe and go win.
Cheers

This is a pretty concise but great article which points out the things that matter. I’ve been setting up my training company and I’ve been able to stick to the process mainly because of passion!
