The Chemistry Between Purpose, Vision And Goals

Without purpose, life is just a motion without meaning, activity without direction, and events without reason. Rick Warren said… “The greatest tragedy is not death, but a life without purpose.”

PURPOSEYour purpose is why you are living.

When the evening hours of life arrive, what will matter the most is how much you loved, how much you lived and how much you served others.

No matter your level of success, your success only finds meaning in your purpose.

John Maxwell says..

“Success is…
knowing your purpose in life,
growing to reach your maximum potential, and sowing seeds that benefit others.”

Keeping that thought in mind, if you are still searching for your purpose in life, here are…

3 Clues To Finding Your Purpose

Once you have clarity on your life’s purpose, then you need to have a vision on how to live and serve your purpose.

VISION: How you execute your purpose.

Your vision is an aspirational description of what you would like to achieve in the mid-term or long-term future. A long-range of things you want to do and that are on purpose.

We lift ourselves by our thought. We climb upon our vision of ourselves. If you want to enlarge your life, you must first enlarge your thought of it and of yourself. Hold the ideal of yourself as you long to be, always everywhere.

In my faith we say…”Where there’s no vision, people perish…” if you truly desire to live, you must have a vision. It is intended to serve as a clear guide for choosing current and future courses of action.

Have you ever tried to walk in the dark?, you never know over what you stumble, same as walking through life without vision, you will easily stumble, and when you get back up you will tiptoe through life and never really live.

I remember being a kid, one day l helped myself with my grand mother’s eye glasses, l was curious, l wanted to see what she was seeing, so l got them and walked to the door, just when l was about to leave the house, l put them on and took my first step outside… all of a sudden, it looked like the ground moved a way from me and l was falling in a ditch. I tried to take a step but because of distorted vision, l fell to my face. Lessons learned…

  1. You will not go so far in life without vision.
  2. You see best when you see through the eye glasses tailored to you (Your vision)

“Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside awakens.” – Carl Jung

Once you have zeroed down your vision, then it’s time to set goals.

GOAL: A bite out of your vision.

An observable and measurable end result having one or more objectives to be achieved within a more or less fixed timeframe.

It’s the result or achievement toward which effort is directed; A goal is a bite of action, something you can do in measurable amounts towards realizing your vision, a vision that is on purpose.

I believe that no matter the size of your vision, you can live it out daily in its simplest form. It may be as simple as writing it down.

“If a goal is worth having, it’s worth blocking out the time in your day-to-day life necessary to achieve it.” — Jill Koenig

Your vision must have an action plan, and that action plan must be on purpose.

“Vision without action is a daydream. Action without vision is a nightmare.” – Japanese Proverb

So that’s the chemistry, Purpose – Vision – Goals – On – Purpose. I hope this added value to your life.
