Faith is not apologetic, it is not sorry for being hopeful, it does not seek for approval, it does not make sense to everyone because it’s not common sense, Faith is shameless.
Faith is bold, it is courageous, it is confident, faith is brazen, it is barefaced, Faith is audacious . How easy it is for me to try making sense of faith yet it wouldn’t be faith if it made sense.
I try to believe that there’s more to life for me, greater things far beyond what l can imagine but l get afraid, afraid that it won’t make sense, afraid of what others will think of me when l have to explain myself, oh!! then my past plays the ‘shame game‘.
I begin to question my faith, l want to know how its going to work, l want to know why I won’t fail like I did in the past… May be you’ve felt like this before… me too, me too, me too.
But the truth cuts through my doubt. Faith is not based on facts, statistics, trends or even our self-righteousness. It is founded in God’s word. Comes by hearing his word, his word is true and it does not return to him void.
For we walk by this faith, not by sight.
If it was by sight, we would never make plans for tomorrow because we never see it until it arrives. This faith is our fundamental foundation of existence that makes life worth living. By this faith, we see the world called into existence by God’s word, what we see created by what we don’t see.
With faith, we see so much more with our eyes closed than when open.
This kind of faith that brought the world into existence is shameless. God makes this same faith available to us through his word.
Without this faith, it is impossible to please God.
We are always either trying to please others including ourselves or trying to please God but without faith it is impossible to please God. I believe that this kind of faith does not look for other people’s approval, this kind of faith does not make sense to everyone and what makes this faith bold is that it is shameless. It cares about what God thinks of us than what others think about us.
This Faith commands the impossible into existence.
This faith does not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. It’s our handle on what we can’t see. Jesus said, “The simple truth is that if you had a mere kernel of faith, a poppy-seed, say, you would tell this mountain, ‘Move!’ and it would move. There is nothing you wouldn’t be able to tackle.”
Such faith gives us confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Don’t let fear steal the possibilities that God has put in your way that look impossible to you now. Hold on this assurance that comes from God’s own word. Let this faith lead you, let it open your world to the great possibilities, dreams and visions God has for you.
This kind of faith is shameless.
