TRUST: The Power Of Letting Go

It is impossible to trust without letting go. l never understood the power of trust until l had to let go of myself. I could ask you… What do you trust? or Where is your trust? But instead, My simple question to you is this?

What Are You Holding On To?
Because what you hold on to, is where your trust is, its your security, it’s what you rely on, i will go on to say this, what you are holding on to is what your life depends on. So is it your money, your job, your savings, your experience, your dreams, unforgiveness or the lies you tell yourself.

Because, “What you hold on to is where your trust is.”

Okay then, What Is Trust?

Trust is a firm belief in the integrity, ability, or character of a person or thing;
To fully understand this statement, lets look at these words,

Firm Belief
To have a firm belief is to have faith

“Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

So are you saying Trust is the same as Faith?

NO!!, Faith is not the same as trust, in fact this is where l was completely getting it wrong, Most Christians assume that when you have faith, you have trust! but it doesnt work that way, Most people have faith in God but few actually trust God.

So What’s The Difference?

Faith is the confidence in the unseen
Trust is the committment no matter what

Faith would say, He can.. and l Believe Him..
Trust says, He is…and l will think and act accordingly

Trust is faith in action

Jesus said to Simon .” .. but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail..” Luke 22:32 . Our faith may fail..

But trust never fails, it cannot be moved or shaken when it is in God

Why Is Trust, Letting Go?

When we trust God, we let go of our selves, our limitations, our knowledge and we transfer control into the UN-LIMITED power of God. When God is in control, He never fails us and that’s why Trust never fails.

This is why the bible says “Trust in the Lord forever,  for the Lord God is an everlasting rock. Isaiah 26:4
Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever. Psalm 125:1-2

One more thing, When you trust God, you surrender your thoughts too. This is why.. Isaiah 55:8-9 says…

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Finally, Trust Is Like a Bungee Jump

When bungee jumping, you have to LET GO, “Trust your instructor”, and have a little faith that may be, just may be that small rope will hold you, and then you jump. But you can never bungee jump without letting go, whether you want it or not.

When you see others doing it, you will have faith that you can do it, When its your turn, am telling you, you cannot jump unless you let go and trust. So faith can exist without trust, But

Today l call you out to let go and trust God and you will never fail.
